Lauren Tolmachoff was first elected to the Glendale City Council in 2014. She is a proven leader that has stood firm in her convictions by making fiscally responsible decisions that have dramatically improved Glendale’s finances.

Lauren’s Accomplishments

  • Lead with fiscally responsible decisions improving Glendale’s bond rating to AAA saving nearly $80 million in long term debt.
  • Focused on fiscal restraint-decreasing General Fund Bond debt from $771 per resident to $384.
  • Pushed for and Implemented Pavement Management Plan to improve and maintain every street in the city.
  • Successfully refinanced Public Safety Pension debt that will bring an estimated savings of $117 million over the next 17 years.
  • Initiated Scenic Corridor along Loop 101 to protect views and prevent billboards.
  • Secured funding to clean up and maintain Skunk Creek wash.
  • Promoted smart growth policies that have increased sales tax collection from $462 per resident to $735.
  • Approved citywide conversion to LED streetlights resulting in savings of nearly $700,000 in electricity costs annually.
